@Treecleaver; Does green always go first? If you pit identical AI's against each other Green always wins.

Yes, green always goes first. We scored the competition in two-game matches, with the algorithm that won by the largest margin winning if the same algorithm didn't win both games.

Another short short, now even shorter. But it's just a quick couple of seconds, I've been developing this guy a little more, texture, normal map, new rig - including face. Still got a while to go and looking forward to starting another character. But I'm going to be pumping out some actual animations when I get the time to.

Little over 2 hrs to UV. Just threw some color on the model really quick to make sure I'm happy with it so far. Still figuring out how to recreate the feel of the brush I used in the concept in Bodypaint...

That looks awesome Are you planning on doing anything more with the eyes? I was just thinking it'd be cool to have a small glint in the eyes, like tiny specs of reflection from lights.

@Blacko;
Two notes. First video; his arms move at a constant rate. There's no acceleration through a swing and no change up between jabs and the big arcing swings. Second video; when you run you leave the ground between strides so he won't always have a foot on the ground.

@mighty: post one at final res too. Hard to judge blown up like this.
Been working on a SNES style platformer character just for some pixely fun. Here's the run cycle I finished roughing out this morning. I found it easier to draw the arms as a second layer so that's why they're grey. I used some old metal slug runs as reference for how much lift in the stride would read right, frame count, etc.

Oh no!
Can't you use coffee shops or something? That's what I did for the 2007 and 2008 Speedgames -- I had no Internet access at home for either of those competitions.

I'd love you see your entry, brownboot. Think about it. Ruminate on it. While imagining the pleasures of development with a nice brew sitting next to you. Can't you just smell it?

I ordered a 4g hub from Virgin Mobile. That might give me enough bandwidth to get something together! It could be easier for me to put together a tabletop something, I'll see what I can come up with...
