God inspired projects

Postby Byron » Tue Mar 27, 2012 7:08 am

For about 12 years I've had a vision for a specific project/product that no one has yet created. I've tried twice and the last time I tried I got tricked out of control of the software and my partner sold it for $2 million. Unfortunately I did not see any of that cash and left a job where I was making a ridiculous salary to start the company. For a while I felt as though it must've been born out of my foolish human nature or pride. I thought I had grandiose ideas and even narcissistic belief in my own skills, vision and ideas. The problem is that this dream just won't go away.

Can anyone relate?

Yes, everybody dreams. You need to start small.

Can you give us a basic overview of the project you had in mind?

The closest way to describe it would be a web based ERP business software suite with integrated mobile apps. A ballpark estimate would be somewhere around 5000 development hours. There are many ERP software packages out there but the design is considerably different than those currently available.

I am pretty sleepy right now since i just pushed myself to do one thing so im not at my sharpest right now, sorry from that, but...

That your project failed doesnt yet mean that it wasnt from God. I am going to take Left Behind game studio as concrete example to you. I dont have any actual knowledge about how things went there, and this is just my guess how things might have went there.

In case you are not aware of Left Behind game studio thing is that it was put up with very big money and they were aiming at making similar money with christian games as A class games are making by making A class christian game.

That however basically failed. They did get good sales etc. and they are still oeprating and to my understanding having viable business now, but their original plan anyway failed, you could even perhaps say - miserably.

They had some real big shot pros in their crew at start, I think the CEO was from electronic Arts or something like that and quite big boss even at electronic arts already. Anyway, everyting good and well. After the sales numebrs werent millions as they expected, EA guy and almost everyone else too left the boat.

Anyway. Thing is, I believe it is very likely that whom ever got that idea about Left Behind game studio, got it from God. I also believe he got those bigshot people involved in it due to it being from God. But even you are doing what Gods plan is to your life, it doesnt mean the enemy wouldnt attack you.

So at some point i guess they started doing something else than God plan was. Maybe they should have prayed about the game idea, maybe it was when they were making the game, or maybe it was after the game was released. Or maybe it was even them all.

Anyway, despite the failure of their original plan, it doesnt mean it wasnt Gods plan to put that game studio up.

It can be many places where the failure to execute the plan have happened. It might have been just lack of prayer or soemthing. For example one the things that happened with elft behind was that Christians rose against it claiming that its having iolence in it or something like that, and there were even movements against it. Something like christian parents against Left Behind game.

And what was truth? Secular game magazines were praising Left behind from its non violent approach.

So what happened? Devil happened i say. Someone weas manipulated by Devil to make (succesful) slander against Left Behind. What Left BEhind would have benefited greatly had been from all christians standing together and going tobuy that game, but devil effectively made them think the whole games from the devil due to blood and violence that wasnt in the game at all. People just talked and no onebothered to check the game if the claims were true.

Maybe that was the death blow. Maybe at that point they should have fasted and praied to get that campaign down. Dont know. But that is just good example about how it is possible that left Behind might have been Gods plan, although it mainly failed (failure depends on how you look about it)

One thing that comes to my mind about your project. You told that the other guy stole our project. That would quite quick give me impression that he might not be believer, right?

In Bible there is place where it mentions about in way that you could interpret it as saying that you should not be business partners with nonbelievers.

Maybe thats where your plan failed.

I also like to point out that there are quite many who think that if there is something you are passionate about, it is very likely Gods plan. That it is God who have put you that passion for something, since it is Hes plan to use you on that area.

Without knowing any more about you (knowing almost nothing) by just the life experience i have got from spiritual matters, your messages do give a hint that your project could well be from God.

And I am not saying that in Spirit (although of course it might be so) but just using my own wisdom on these matters.

Pray about it, ask God how to do it, with whom to do it etc.

Problem is that many times people ask idea from God, then they get it, but after that they dont consult Him anymore and the whole thing fails.

Gods plan for every single one of us is that we would all be great revivalists, however, so far that plan have happened only on very few people. Does that mean that Gods plan is not for you to be great revivialist? No. It just means You never did Gods full plan.

Thats how i think it is.

And great revivalist dont necessarily mean in traditional sense. It can be for example that you make your program and God can use that program to open many many doors and you will be great blessing to all the people all around.

Maybe you even make a handbook on how to develop programs the christian way and then me and the rest on cdn will read it and get greatly blessed while reading it. That is one way of being revivalist.

:P dont worry about it, thiefs always get whats coming to them. Typically they try and steal bigger, your probably to nice to press charges the next person wont be so kind typically. one thing i observed with money, the more you have the more people you have around you like parasites. kids end up spoiled ungreatful brats, if rich enough they make tabloid covers for rehab, meltdowns, with cameras in your window, then you have the wife that loves you for the money, never around, squanders it all at saloons. end up alone while surrounded by people.

Being rich is over hyped, people try invading your privacy, worried about losing the money, from hostage takers, accountants that take it all to a non extradition country. money warps and corrupts people, lose focus of whats important, many it goes to there head, get to big an ego think there god, and god humbles them. The world you thought exsists vanishes, them people after your money vanishes find out your real friends and family are then.

which is a great thing to know who is a real friend and whos there for the ride. the guy that took that money sold his soul for it, he calculated that money was worth more then following gods 10 commandments. god most certainly will deal with them.

maybe you can just do this for fun? or start and try again. you make something new and innovate once can again, thats thiefs achiles heel, there mind and efforts is into taking not building. once they steal something they cant make the next generation of it, they want the easy way of stealing. why you can make another fortune and they cant.

Most importantly god blesses the work of his servents and something about blessed are the poor. it all works out, guessing you could say you gave 1-2 mil in charity didnt take a dime for yourself.

I do remember that in the back of my mind I felt this quiet urging telling me not to sign over control to this guy. Obviously I didn't trust that voice and that must've been the beginning of the downfall. Every morning at 9 o'clock I gathered everyone up on company time and I led us in prayer and it got the other owners upset. About a month later the new controlling owner moved me to a different building with some lame excuse about needing my office. so I founded a software company, took on investors who claimed to be Christians, and eventually gave over control to them. I also felt the still small voice telling me in the back of my mind "don't worry about these guys. I anointed you for this endeavor not them". As I tell the tale it is obvious to me that I have not fully processed this loss in my life. Fortunately for me and my family I went back to consulting and have made a fantastic living for the last five years but the dream still remains. I shall continue to pray to our God, seek council, and take it one step at a time. I have really enjoyed all of your comments.

They are struggling. Their costs have exceeded their sales income for the last five years.

that worked out good then, the last few years they likely havent been able to take a full salary, and may end up losing everything. see a great example why thiefs arent blessed :) you need people that build in an organization not steal, lie and cheat :) neat example of devine intervention :)
