my new idea (CDN project X)

The CDN project was 1 game, and 1 story, what would most likely work better is allow for a game universe to be built, with other peoples games conecting with yours. So that people can code in the language they prefer and are best at.

An example, lets say mack makes an RPG using this universe, Bugala a first person shooter, mene a card game using the rpgs, first person shooter heros and villans . what that does is provide mene with characters, many people know, and a back ground story if people are willing to play the other games, and allows fans to become fanatical, and go very deep into the story if they choose or not. Another consequence is mene's game may draw more attention to mack and bugalas game, also they may use similar to identical graphics, and have a base of 3d modlers, artists, musicans, story writers all with a prior knowledge of the game universe, the characters, and can better pool resources and ideas.

This allows for people to work at what they are best at, create a database of information and allow each development group to make higher quality in most respects. Even if your group is very talented it still will have issues with the volume of work, and more than likely 1 or more areas will be areas no one in your group does exceptionaly well (music, concept art, 3d modeling, animations, story writing, somewhere will be a weakness, and the data base should be able to in time provide you with some much needed help to make your games of a higher quality, with a much deeper story and fan base.

If you dislike the options you have, planet, species and other wise change the planet make your own, or make a future or past version a hundred or 200 years and you can make a game the way you want. this galaxy has a lot of room with meleniums to play with at all tech levels, you can find a spot mark it out and you pretty much can do what you want with it.


The System

It uses the Star wars and star trek model of create a franchise, through massive amounts of information, obviously no one here is a millionaire/billionaire, so the idea of making a half dozen to a dozen movies is not going to happen, so it will not grow as fast, However creating a database and allowing animators to have a quick stockpile of images they can make short videos (2-30 minutes) that are not targeted at any one game but to further the story. it turns stand alone games into a franchise, but still retaining massive amounts of developer freedom.

The system is simple, allowing for maxamum freedom within the universe. the story and heart of the system, in the year is 4500AD (@2480 years after armageddon), god announces to everyone they will take part in a small experiment, they will group up and make planets, animals, species, and be gaurdians and overseers over a planet, species or goverment, and try to lead them on the right path way to salvation.

In 5000AD god will construct these galaxys,

each creature and society start off at tech level 0,

with absolutely nothing. and in 500 years the bronze age starts,

in another 500 the iron age starts.

in another 500 years the atomic/nuclear age.

in 500 the space age begins.

Every 250 years 1 patron angel can impart 1 piece of advice for the society, fact or general knowledge.


An example is that you can make a game in any period, allowing for multiple levels of negotiations, you can make a game with angels, in any industrial age, simply make a new planet that can be tied into the galaxy

Planet listing format

Planetary Government: Admiralarchy, a council of 10 Admirals that rule in the planets name. Admirals are in charge of independent navy’s (space and water) and are elected by troop roster size. Each Admiral gains respect and by effect more troops by greater and more daring military campaigns. They enforce laws, and individually do research for there fleet alone. However they will trade technology, research, materials and information for other goods from other fleets. The power resides in the individual sailors, to elect Admirals and serve in that fleet. A disgraced Admiral will in time fade into past memory and be without a fleet, losing all power, and be forced into working for another officer, as a subordinate.

Justice System: laws are passed by the Admiralarchy and enforced by an elite intelligence agency known as the Rangers, they are the fleets spies, special forces, Criminal Investigators, Advanced recon units, and elite body guards.

Punishments: reprimand, for minor mistakes, Punishment additional hours served for the fleet a week.
Level 1 execution, is for stealing and petty crimes, it is a quick painless death.
Level 2 execution, is for conspirators, breaking the moral codes and enemy spies, this form of execution is a public beating followed by beheading.
Level 3 execution is reserved for traitors and is horrific and grouse, it starts with being clubbed, breaking bones and causing flesh wounds, followed by spraying them with an acid in the wounds, followed by a precession of people spitting on them and kicking them, and ultimately being burnt to the stake alive, with your ashes and remains being turned into urinal cakes for the final show of disrespect of that soldier, which obviously they get urinated on until they dissolve down the drain, obviously the thought being they end up with the rest of the sewerage.

Animal Life:Predator, is the largest fish in a huge ocean. It is extremely aggressive, if you enter it’s breeding grounds, more then likely your life will soon end. It is very fast and capable of very deep diving, it’s huge eyes allow it to see extremely well in water, it can find a target from 200 yards under water, line up and ram it going full speed from underneath, shattering boats to pieces or flipping them over, and pulling them to the bottom. They eat anything that swims, and purely a carnivore, no animal is safe.

Swamp Sucker, it is a omnivore, it is big enough to attack humanoids and win, it eats vegetation and capable of flipping over canoes, and eating the inhabitants of it. It is an irritable creature, capable of fresh and saltwater living. It has the smarts of a whale, and the aggression of a shark. It is a very fast creature, making it very dangerous, you can not out row it, or sail it, when one of these creatures is on you, and you are in a small boat it’s time to hide on land. Fortunately there are only small amounts of these creatures and they stick to the tropical equator, and not the glacier poles of the planet. They are roughly 20 feet long on average when fully mature.

White Fish, is a great source of food if you can catch them, they are in the ocean, and rarely come near shore, they average 4-6 feet long, and are a fairly fast fish, and need to be to escape swamp suckers and bigger predators. It eats Plants for the most part, but is very evasive.

Plant Life:Swamporia is a floating spiked plant of wood, it draws it’s energy from roots, like it’s name sake it grows in saltwater or freshwater (swamps) it is farmed for it’s defensive characteristics, and planted all around harbors and beaches, it is capable of impaling people, and leaving many cuts and sores behind.

Swamp Bottom, is a bottom growing plant in swamps only, it tangles up swimmers and animals getting to close, much larger animals like Swamp Suckers do eat these plants. The leaves when ground up and dried make a low quality paper.

Orange Berry plants, grow on a sturdy stalked plant that comes to a point, with 4-6 long leaves and berries of decent size, and one of the safest to grow plants on the planet. The plants come back every year and are spread by seeds in the berries.

Algae Colony, It is bright green, and easily visible anywhere, It reproduces at a massive rate, allowing animals on the planet to grow so large, and not starve to death. Each algae colony doubles in 1 day’s time. The individual algae is 6 inches to a foot in diameter. Humanoids can eat them, but it isn’t recommended, they taste horrible.

Swamp Fruit, is a bush that produces pink swamp melons, they float above the water, attached to vines on the tree coming from the top, with no ground or obstacles to inhibit growth these melons can reach huge sizes, beyond what a land fruit can do. The bush itself has no desirable qualities, smelly burning wood, weak wood, they are left alone and used as orchard trees of the swamp.

Swamp Hedge, is a small plant that looks similar to a fire tree, it has not of it’s characteristics, beyond physical similarities, Swamp Hedge produces flexible wood used for bows, the leaves ground up make a decent glue, This hedge makes the swamps, and rivers far more dangerous, an animal can be hiding under one and you will not know it until your ambushed.

Swamp Pad, is a self floating Plant, it has multiple chambers with air pockets, They often take up much area, and are the foe of all fisherman, they are not eaten by most fish, and hide what is underneath the water from view. They are not edible, but the skin of it is easy to remove and great for making sails.

Tree Life:The Palm Pillar Tree, grows very thick and tall, and harvested extensively for canoes and for the wood they produce, often they are harvested before mature, with the top part of the tree cut off, so that the tree doesn’t die. It takes 40-50 years for a Palm Pillar tree to reach a height it can be harvested. It also produces a coconut type fruit, which is edible. The leaves are harvested for every day uses and as burnable to keep warm, since wood is such a rare and expensive item to burn.

Fire Tree, receiving it’s name for being the first dependable source to start fires. When taking the rhines of a Palm Pillar tree’s yellow melons, and putting it on the end of a stick, it ignites into a big ball of fire, which can then be transported to the spot of the desired fire. However don’t fall in or you will be dissolved in a matter of minutes, in the yellow acid which pools in the center of the tree, it’s a common misconception that it is many tree’s, in fact the enormous base is under water and planted into the ground. The tree survives with an incredibly dense bark, and fast flowing streams of water inside it. If a hole ruptures, the water pushes the material out into the nearby lake, while it repairs itself. Which makes cutting it down extremely foolish and very deadly, resulting in streams of acid flying in the air in all directions. The leaves of the tree are considered very valuable, when you collect leaves they are harmless, add water and they catch fire and can not be put out easy, it will require a lot of water, to disperse it quickly, and make excellent firebombs.

Ancient Cities:

Palm Pillar, founded in 5328AD it is a logging community in the center of the continent of Pattonia, they are tree farmers.

History: The Launchenites are a paranoid extremely defensive race. Always on edge seeing every outsider as a threat and treated suspiciously. Launcharia is covered primarily in water and ice, resources are hard to come by and often they are very rare to come across/to impossible. The culture is feudal in it’s class system, but achieving that class is by the individual, a fathers deeds translates to nothing for the son’s, They must prove themselves to be formidable Warriors, and officers to gain the title of High Admiral, or Fleet Admiral.

The early history was fights for land and resources. The paranoid nature has had the Launchenites create massive fortifications all through out the history they make massive and elaborate fortifications. They where fighting a war to the death until space flight was discovered, and it was made known to them other species roam the galaxy. They still loath and do not trust other fleets, infighting is kept to a minimum by the ruling government, with the ultimate plan to colonize enough planets so that they no longer must share a planet with other fleets and admirals. Having low resources they search for places to mine.

The Ancient Fleets: where comprised of 2 groups, the Pattonians and the Scheer fleet, after the war the remaining Pattonians where trained as marines, and blended in among the Scheer fleet, which in time divided into 30 or more fleets, each claiming an island or land mass as there own.

The Ancient Wars: The first meaningful war was in the year 5324AD and started the first naval battle in history of the planet. Forever shaping the planets history, Showing the value of a navy on planet Launcharia. The battle took place on the small continent of Pattonia, where the ruling class was land based warfare in specialization. How ever they sought out there foes, by putting the army into dug out canoes, where they met an unfortunate end, in a very decisive sea battle, which fueled a maritime race for bigger better ships, more advanced to be the supreme power on the planet. The dug out canoes of the Pattonians where no match for the 1 mast canoes of the Scheer Fleet, armed with archers using arrows dipped in flammable liquids. The maces, and javelins where just to ineffective at far range to cause any damage by the Pattonians.

The 2nd Fleets, which exist until modern times.

The Boulder Fleet, they have a reputation of a impregnable cities, and bulky slow moving ships, they are the sole owners of the small continent of Pattonia (1 of 3), they have a very decent island, which most fleets envy, they use maximum protection because for the most part they have a steady decent supply of materials, when compared to other fleets on the planet as a hole. As a primary target for enemy invasions, they tend to lean more defensive then other fleets. With shore emplacements always around to aid the ships, the fleet is used to slow up enemies, so shore based defenses can exterminate invaders.

The Smuggler Fleet, They are one of the most economic based Fleets on the planet, they have a few small islands, with little to no resources on them islands. They do the dangerous trading jobs, like blockade running, trading stolen or looted merchandise, transporting valuable goods, people or prisoners, and when all else fails they search for rare materials or trade for them, so they can be sold for more. They are allies of the Predator Fleet, and have all 3 islands off the coast of Scheertopia, which makes them relatively safe from harm. It is rumored they have massive fortunes in under ground chambers, the island’s they occupy are covered in warehouses and buildings.

The Predator Fleet, they live up to the name and are the most capable fleet on the planet, they hate the Boulder Fleet with a passion and try to invade them frequently, The predator Fleet tolerate the Smugglers, and often call upon them to find them materials to wage war. Some go as far as to suggest they are the economic wing of the fleet. They have a small continent named Scheertopia, and the ancestral home of the Scheer Fleet(1 of 3) Like all the continents it is rich in resources. They are so militaristic they neglect the economy, they are not businessmen or pretend to be. They send packs of ships all around the planet, attacking targets of opportunity, trying to acquire new technology to wage war, and make themselves the dominant Fleet.

The Wise Fleet, They are more researchers based, and they pride themselves on being 1 step ahead of all other Fleets in technology, which makes up in part for the lack of killer instinct. They are the owners of the last continent named the Continent of Fire (1 of 3). The continent is a very dangerous place, it has animals indigence to it alone, it has many large swamps and creatures, that made other Fleets skip it by when looking for places to colonize. The Wise Fleet is a perfect example of owning land many to no one wants. The only reason they are warred upon is for resources to loot, quickly load and get far away. The Wise Fleet makes sure the legendary monsters are always mentioned when they are mentioned, and help build mythology around these creatures, creating a psychological defense.

The Crusader Fleet, Most closely aligned to the Boulder Fleet Are the Strength of the Boulder Fleet, they hunt down predator and smuggler fleets and try capturing them. The Boulder Fleet often places bounties on enemy fleets, and they would be the one’s hunting them. They get the Name Crusader from The loyalty they display, they execute more people then the rest combined, they take faith very seriously, and see smugglers, common criminals and especially predators that the world needs to be cleansed of.

The Ocean Fleet, unable to find any decent land they made the ocean home, they travel in a group, and have managed to make many technological adaptations to live at sea. They have converted upper decks of ships into gardens, and still manage to carry on at a high level. They do much trading, but are known best for catching fish. Often Trading and working with the Wise Fleet, Trading valuable knowledge with each other.

The Swamp Fleet, they are a very poor fleet, always lacking in resources and technology, appear to be 1 or more steps behind the other fleets in technology, typically have a hard life and die young. The islands they inhabit are mostly underwater and swamps, they are swamp farmers primarily.

The Sun Fleet, they live on a decent island near the equator rich in resources, the land around the island is very shallow for a mile out, it is an interesting place, they constructed an island near the deep water, so goods can be transported in and out. They are isolationists and keep to themselves, they try to better the land they inhabit rather then going for conquest or wealth, they are one of the more stable fleet’s in position and stature, they change little and keep out of wars.

The Dark Fleet, they are corrupted souls and at eternal war with the Crusaders, They have no allies, they are pirates and scourge of the planet. They are universally disliked and will never be granted a seat on The Admiralarchy, if caught they will be executed. They where lead a stray by an Admiral seeking power, that claimed god has talked to him, and said the fleets are not staying true to Christian beliefs and must all be exterminated, And the Dark Fleet would be his instrument to make them be good Christians.

The Fire Fleet, they specialize in fire weapons, and are not afraid to sell them, they make a lot of money off the weapons they make, they have a decent island, which is not attacked often, those who do tend to get burnt. They use fire as a super weapon, on more then 1 occasion they have dumped flammable liquids in the ocean, tossed in fire tree leaves and watched entire fleets burn to aches, when approaching the island. They do go on raids and attack other Fleets and islands to gain more resources.

The Stealth Fleet, they are quick and evasive, they are very sneaky and secretive, they have very tricky captains and tend to do a healthy amount of raiding, They are an off shoot of the Predator Fleet, tasked with permanently harassing the Boulder Fleet, and providing recon and intelligence on enemy targets. While at the same time allowing the Predator fleet to claim ignorance to it’s actions.

The Saboteur Fleet, set up by the Boulder Fleet it set’s up ambushes to destroy enemy ships. The most devastating tactic to set a boat to drift into an enemy harbor with leaking barrels of flammable fluids, setting entire harbors on fire. They counter the Stealth Fleet at every move, trying to disrupt operations.

The Ranger Fleet, a Sun Fleet off shoot, with Crusader Fleet influence becomes a fleet of great respect for the ability to be impartial and judge objectively any situation, they are mediators, and do a lot of peace keeping work.

The Tycoon Fleet, they are traders and businessmen, they have a great deal of influence and are not a good fleet to get on your bad side, or they will cut off trading negotiations, leaving you with resource shortfalls in certain areas. Very few islands are self sufficient, and even fewer capable of going without trade support. They pioneer and develop bigger and bigger ships, they move what is believed to be unmovable by most. They also are paid to develop resource fields by many fleets. They are universally neutral and trade with all fleets minus the dark fleet. They are more then willing to use what influence they have to make your life miserable and take out retribution on economic grounds which can be devastating, they influence others not to trade with you, through some heavy leverage. Forcing you to pay heavy fees to the Smuggler Fleet to acquire what you desire.

The Scavenger Fleets, Comprised of small nomadic ships, bouncing around from bad island, to bad island. Loaded with ships that are antiques and not sea worthy. They are very poor, even the Swamp Fleet look at them in disgust. The entirety of this Fleet are granted 1 Admiral seat, and the primary group wishing to leave the planet, being technologically challenged this makes things very interesting.

The next war sparked a new age for the planet in the year 5487AD, The small amount of habitable land caused the first war for land, placing a forced emphasis on developing what they had to a further degree then ever before, placing a greater emphasis on technology and research. The crude 1 mast canoes made from hallowed out trees, where replaced with a catamaran using wood planks with a sail on it. Providing additional stability and the ability to allow mass fishing. The bow’s where upgraded to long bow status, giving further range, with the ability to use marines if they came in close. The war lasted on and off for 20 years planet wide with no real winners, when a person appeared to be winning his allies turned on them and fought them all believing there fleet should be the superior fleet. By the end the biremes where being built with rams on them, and wood to build the ships was running scarcely low planet wide, compounding the planets issues further. By this time massive fortresses where being assembled to guard the capitols and ports. The shortages of wood has forced Launcharia’s architecture to be primarily of stone, for it’s defensive abilities. At this point in time tree farming became a major business, not only growing them but bigger, and harder to get better attributes for ship building. The world war may have ended but small conflicts would be a constant for the next 1500 years. The distrust is a legitimate fear, something as simple as sending 5 trade ships to a city can be seen as an act of war if not invited. For the most part they want the materials oh another island not the land. The land is dangerous to take, it is filled with traps, saboteurs, they will ruin every last resource before giving it up, extremes like poisoning the wells, burning the crops, spiking the trees, collapsing buildings, flooding towns. They are clever at booby trapping and only a foolish fleet dares try to capture an island, that isn’t loyal to them.

Patron Angel:General George S. Patton of the US third army, Admiral Reinhard Scheer of the German High seas Fleet

Admiral Scheer’s society was formed on the small continent of Scheertopia in his honor, like all societies, they have a stone monument of the bible, and a set of ten commandments in each species starting capitol. Written in a language they understand, and not necessarily one that everyone else has. Admiral Scheer imparted a simple but straight forward piece of advice, at it’s creation, and he said, Who ever control’s the ocean controls the world, a idea that goes through out the ages, from economic to military doctrine. And encouraged his society to make a life on the ocean.

General Patton’s society was formed on a small continent named Pattonia, in his honor. He imparted the wisdom to his society, To strike hard, strike fast, and strike often against an adversary. And urged his society to be more land based in nature, and develop the technologies to fight hand to hand.

When Admiral Scheer and General Patton confronted each other in Heaven, they got into a long talk about military strategy and the differences between naval and ground warfare. They became friends in time decided to be a group to form a planet. They negotiated for a century on planet make up, and decided a planet with many islands was the way to go. It would stop tyrants from amassing to much power, with the concession of some monstrous creatures will patrol the oceans devised by General Patton, to be the great equalizer. They decided to split the 2 best land masses one for each Patron Angel and a third land mass of decent size but low quality to be decided upon by the inhabitants what to do with it. And the rest of the islands to be split up among many groups, being to far apart for any one centralized power to enforce it’s dominance.

However after the first war many things unraveled all the plans and ideals they had set forth where quickly falling apart, and made them extremely frustrated. They did not foresee groups merging so quickly, that 1 decisive battle would end the Patton Vs. Scheer debate, and with continued wars blurring the lines of which philosophy is more effective. With the ideas merged the ability to measure progress is gone. By the Beginning of the Bronze age they had shifted thinking from philosophy to how to make what they have work better. Being a step behind the established Fleets, and grievances caused they where to late, to effect change, they then had to look to the future and see if they can salvage it, or if the planet will become nothing more then a perpetual war.


obviously this description is incomplete, needs thousands of times more information, like influential leaders, more graphics and pictures, what a launchenite, looks like, the traits, appearances, clothing and many more things. yes this species is contreversial, but some should be, and explained why they are the way they are.

Respecting others

And this will be built into the rules.

simple rules to the franchise.

no diliberate attempts to deface/destroy the universe, you know things like create a budhist planets, when obviously that religion wasnt the right choice. things like pro atheist sort of things, it needs to remain christian.

obviously do your own work no stealing, pirating other peoples work the franchise doesnt need to be sued, so that someone can add wookies into the galaxy.

no destroying everyone elses planet, built into the rules god wont allow a species to go extinct. if they get beat up which would be normal, they are saved and protected for a while to regroup and rebuild.

People should be encouraged to make fully functional planets, and build up history and facts about it, details, pictures.this will keep planet amounts in check. if someone says i have a planet name and species name and that is it... well it isnt implementable, no pictures, voices music, animations, maybe it will get a mention by someone but that would be it. it is pretty obvious planets that are more developed are more likely to be implemented.

a group would need to be set up to organize planets and information. with a time line of events, and rate planet information, so as bagula pointed out it isnt a long procedure to find a planet with substance to it.

Each person should conceptually build only 1 planet/society/culture, and that is because each person leaves there own imprint on that society, sure help with other planets and world but for example someone shouldnt make 50 worlds and the rest of the people work to fill them in and add the detail to them planets. since it is a community project and not any 1 person's project.

At times like this you should consider the purpose of your game. Is it to make your player have fun? If so, then the player has fun in playing a game. If it's about communicating an amazing story, maybe you should be writing a novel.

Games are ultimately about having fun, if you're going to make a game, it should be fun.

reorganized the data and ideas into 1 more easy to follow post.

The general philosiphy of the universe section :P

it's simple you make a world and games can be built from it. For example you can have an rpg on 1 planet. infact many about 1 planet. about internal struggles, could go smaller and 1 group on 1 planet and there issues. or it could be made about planet against planet. or bigger and groups of planets against eachother, or bigger about angels against angels big. Will have many different eras on each planet.

But in general most of us all live on earth, it is beaten to death, same animals, plants, buildings and you are instantly familiar with the settings, places, themes. The great part about this universe idea is you take the familiarity away, everything is new and intresting, the plants are different, the species are humanoid but different, the lands are different, there is a higher power presense in the game, from one world to the next you do not know what to exspect. thats what starwars tapped into everything was new and original. but it has a flaw, they get so involved in good and bad they dont seperate things out. the galaxy exsists for the fight between good and bad. the history doesnt go pre lightspeed travel, never have a wookie civil war with armor and swords in the dark ages, it doesnt show the societys from day 1. which would be a very intresting story line.

The point of this would be that from start to finish the entire life span of a galaxy is at play and everything in it. from creation to extinction it is all in play. your focus can be heaven, galactic, systems, planets, planet, city, continent, island, province, city, house, family, individual, past, present, and future.

Sure someone could make an earth reproduction with all it's materials, wild life, history but it has been done before, and loses some of the new feel to it if it is meant to be a carbon copy, witht he same history, people and things like that.

Or, you could just play Mount & Blade.... Which is boss.

Economies are often fixed in a game because they are a measure of progression. So while the players income scales the economy does not allowing the player to feel more powerful.

Changing a price at the last minute could easily feel like a bug. That kind of system scares me, it would be very difficult to 1. educate the player about this interaction 2. let the player discover these interactions without reading a block of text. Not that it couldn't be done, my spider sense is just tingling.

Games are mean't to be fun but how do you achieve this for a long lasting franchise? which is detail, a lot of it, well thought out.

As usual with these posts I have no idea what kind of game you're trying to make other than a "better" game. Pretty sure Angry Birds taught everyone else in the industry "better" =/= fun.

alright i fixed up the topic, condensed it, and put it all in 1 spot to read at the top of the page.

Basically if you have issues grasping what i am doing... and what will happen...

in the show stargate/atlantis/universe the ancients made seed ships which went all over the galaxy and made stargates, some planets of great importance others, rest stops, others the gate was destroyed and never visited. What i am doing now would be equal to the seed ships, i am creating a planet so that other follow on ships and explorers can use the planet. if that makes any sense, and others make more planets, and sure it is a lot of work i have atleast 24-36 hours of time invested into this planet minimum, likely 50-60 hours. So they will not be easy to make or any short process, but like mine i really like the way it is coming out and is a lot of fun. When i started my main thoughts where get a small pool of items and go to space based :lol: it is taking forever and have really enjoyed the low level ancient history aspect of the planet, which i thought would be boring. it is proving to be more and more fun, because most games make stone and wood fortresses, in this world you can use natural plants, trees and animals as a more then formidable defense, plants like palisades, highly agressive killer catfish like creatures. while some things are a stretch into fiction like the fire tree consuming people with an open pool of acid, other things are not out of the realm of possobility. even the fire tree while a bit rediculous still seems slightly possible, because things like the venus fly trap, eat and consume bugs, so why not a bigger version where you walk right into it's stomach, and skip the trying to catch it part.

:lol: well you can not claim this idea and specifically my planet idea is not original, between it's patron angels and legal system, im coinfident no one has a system like that, but under the planet circumstances you could see how that may develope. you have a general and admirial which are aggresive in combat strategy.

it would provide a neat effect, have them 2 be the comic relief in the game.

similar to how these 2 guys where the comic relief. (the 2 old muppets) it would be a great way to add dialouge into a game, have an over view with someone making jokes to lighten things up. comedy rarely finds its way into videogames it would be a nice touch. since videogames are for entertainment perhaps a dose of comedy would be good. whats good is using them 2 old muppets is the jokes where clean, non offensive and would liven up most games. another game good at adding comedy in is lego starwars

I wasn't going to mention it, since it's not a big deal, but since you're saying is totally original. I thought I'd point out that it's highly reminiscent of the Quarians in the Migrant Fleet in Mass Effect.

I'm not saying it's exactly the same, but it is quite reminiscent of their politics.

Might I suggest you put this on WORK.CDN?

Cool have an idea of an alternate earth type world. is it just going to exist on this site or are you making a separate site for it

i have made most of the early history, and even pictures of some of the technology, and planet life. need to work on more buildings but the story is now there :)

Now i think you can better see what i am aiming for, and the amount of detail involved, from making original plants and trees, to countrys, continents, goverments and all sorts of things. Adding the pieces together and each one makes the story that much better. each planet will be countless hours of work, as you can see and not a simple process, or a short process.

obviously the pictures are not perfect some need to be redone or heavily tweaked, the pictures help explain the story better, and how things fit together. i am simotaiously working on the story and images, so now when you see the story, and descriptions you can visualise the idea.

The general idea for the planet i am working on is a hostile unfriendly place, no moon so the planet has huge glaciers forming up most of it's land mass at the poles, extremly dangerous plants and animals. 0 planetary tilt, a circular orbit and not an elipse, so no defined seasons.

if you want to use these graphics for a speed code challenge or something tell me what you need, should be simple to modify settings and send different pictures. this could make a funny fishing game, where the fish ends up winning the fight, and instead of you eating them, they eat you :)

It sounds cool. It made me think of something like a fan fiction site, but with 'fan' created games instead stories. Sometimes you might want to play, and at some point you might want to create your own. Almost like posting user created levels for a game, or even community created scenarios, except more open to what you can create + linked to everyone else's.

yep exactly, make a civilization from start to finish, with many planets, similar to star wars, with religious explenations to the peoples motives, show interference and how best intentions can screw things up. have the main idea being god is watching... and no matter how odd the world may be it all comes back to that. and it means so many things can be done with the universe... from stone age technology, to space age, to heaven... the game can be on many levels... in many ways...

Ha ha time to show some of my progress on my very very crazy world im creating.

obviously when finished no tile seems visable, thats so the coder and writer can get a grasp of whats going on and where the lines are.

some things wont make much sense, this is zoomed way way out, each tile represents 100 feet by 100 feet, zoomed in can see board by board, and stone by stone.

in short there a part subteranian creature, you see holes and and a crane on each platform, essentailly they build a shaft and tunnle out to every platform, so instead of a surface warehouse on each building it is calculated for all your buildings under ground. also solves the dissapearing ship questions, of you make a base have an army of ships an enemy attacks your base shows you have none. well in this game you can park ships in under ground tunnles using locks and steel doors. with a steam powered generator pumping out the water.
