Big congrats - anybody who can finish a project of that scale deserves serious respect!
Might give the demo a try when I can get access to a PC.

Played the demo. Very impressed! If I had time I'd buy and disappear into my man-cave possibly never to return. Seriously it's very good. I love the attention to detail. Great work Exodus!
Love ya.
Blessings

Thanks for checking it out! By the way, I've been told that the game WILL run on a Mac (in case anyone was wondering if it was Mac-compatible. Someone downloaded and played it on their iMac without any problems.
EDIT: ok, they verified that they had to install "audio and midi drivers for Bootcamp" before they were able ton install the game, so I'm not sure what that is.

I think they just ran Windows on their Mac. Bootcamp is a software that allows you to install Windows on a Mac machine.

Being one of the Beta testers i can say that this is pretty good game.
And to give sort of short description for people wondering wether to buy or not.
Now i have big gap in modern computer RPG games, i basically havent played much RPG after say 1995.
But, moving is done in Phantasy Star series way in Sega Mega Drive.
Manga figures move in towns and outside of town.
However, i liked more from Vastars movement thing, since there are two big differences.
1. In Phantasy Star when you were outside of town, enemies just attcked you like you were being ambushed.
In Vastar, those enemies move around that outside map as well, so you can avoid figthing them just by avoiding them. At point you go to some place where there are lots of weak enemies due to you being so strong already, its very nice that you can avoid almost any battle and save some time that way.
It is also nice, that this gives possibility to sneak behind stronger enemies.
2. Instead of you needing to hack through 10s of enemies to gain next level and there coming enemies every once in a while, there arent that mnay enemies in Vastar, and battles are much more equal, that basically either you or enemy both have good chance to die in many cases.
for this same reason, just one battle might be enough to get you to next level.
It gives much more a feeling of every enemy being more like person than produced in some factory and sent after you like you usually get feeling in computer RPGs.
I havent completed this one yet, but it seems to me this is much shorter thatn Phantasy Star games.
I played Phatasy Star i think it was II or III, and never finished it, because it was just too darn long.
In this i dont need to spend hour just to walk to some place even its distant place. And there are teleport magic and so on to transport me from one place to another.
Although they didnt get their ideas yet mastered, i think Vastar has many good new ideas (at least new to me, of course they oculd be even standards nowadays without me knowing) that make it worthwhile to spend some time on it.
Basically if they make sequel one day, and they develop all the good points further, that sequel might even become a classic.
But this hopefully first one is already really good and definetily worth its cheap price to anyone looking these kinds of Manga character RPG games.
Oh yeah. battle system is also similar to Phantasy Starts (and many other similars) that there comes separate battle screen where you in turns decide what your cahracters do. A simplified strategy without possibility of movement.
Both you and enemies stay at same spot and you keep defending, attacking, using items, abilities etc.
Also Super Matio RPG, Paper Mario and dozens of others have this same system.
Although not anything spectacular, pretty standard system compared to others, i think they got pretty enjoyable fight system with their own touch.
good thing is also that if you are using minilaptop like i am using to play this, keyboard control is supported as well, and fights are actually quite enjoyable to play with keyboard.
Actually one possibilty is to have thsi game on your minilaptop as bit of a snatch game. Although i dont think 5 minutes a time is enough. But maybe 15 minutes minimum play sessions still possible. 30 minutes definately already enough.
Good Game.
