Plus tonight my sister in law is bringing over her PC - it's infected should be wiped - but she (and my wife) wants me to try to fix everything the hard way.

I spent a few minutes last night making a mock-up. I need to change the resolution to 240x160 to fit a 2x'd iPhone screen. Don't worry though, it will also be released as a flash game. So, all you non-i-thingy people can enjoy as well. Here is the mock-up showing the inclusion of a virtual d-pad for the iphone screen.

Cool Sam
I almost have the database program for entering all my data in. Have to sit down and think through the load logic.

Only two weeks left to get your project bids in -- they must be submitted by April 18th.
There are currently two entrants, and there are at least three prizes available -- indie games, and licenses to the newly released Platformer Starter Kit.

I have done some changes to the web site and have seen the increase in traffic I was hoping for.
Working on the database side of things - just have to finish up the load program and it will be usable.

Got some work done the last two days. You would think with the extra time I could - but I'm helping a friend move and as you all know - life has been rough.
However - 1. Create a database for looking up text information by catagory Each Catagory can have sub catagories Each Entry should have Catagory, Sub Catagory, one line description ,search terms, description, and example of use You should be able to search on the above criteria
I have the entry program made. It does not do the search but the data is there to support it. So I have accomplished what I wanted to there.
2. Add full information for Home Town Heroes powers to the database mention in 1 (about 70??) 3. Add full information for Home Town Heroes disadvantages to the database mention in 1 (about 70??) 4. Add full information for Home Town Heroes advantages to the database mention in 1 (about 35??)
Have about 25 entries written yesterday
5. Create a character creation wizard for making characters in Home Town Heroes - saveable in a Home Town Heroes file format and as a text file - have gotten no where with this
6. Create a dice roller for Home Town Heroes - that visually illustrates how rolling dice works in Home Town Heroes For example 5d8 Keep 3 + 5 is Roll 5 eight sided dice - keep three of them, and add 5 to that total
Done
7. Double page views not couting the forum that has been pulled (but we still get people trying) as it had become a place spam type activity.
Done
So not to bad going to write some entries today and think about character creation. I don't think I can get it done but I want to start on it.

I am done - my time is up. Technically tomorrow - but my friend that needs to move has a truck showing again.
I have accomplished all of my goals except the character builder - which I have decided to do as a php/web process. There are some suggestions for the site that I did not get to implement yet does not mean they were not good suggestions.
I will work on a page detailing some of my work and post a link to it.

The idea I was originally going to submit hit a major roadblock. The roadblock was the same one that stopped me from completing it before. Legal concerns. The game is very similar in game play and appearance to another game(as it was inspired by said other game) though there were some significant differences in mechanics which may have saved it. One difference this time was that I attempted to contact the creators of the other game this time. The bad news is they never replied back.
It is still possible that I may submit a project though it may be dependent on how quickly I can add some features to my newest engine(like text support which would be vital). The project if I submit it would be porting my FreedomBound speed game to my new engine and completing the original goals of the project which would mean including at least 2 more scenes(most of the art already done) including a quiz maze and a find the culprit type scene. If time permits it may also include some character animation(like guards walking back and forth in front of blocked areas).
Edit: I have recently run into some bugs in my engine that must be fixed before considering the above project and I don't think I can fix them before the deadline for bid submission. So I will not be entering a project for this contest. I don't want to have to deal with a bunch of engine bugs while trying to port and improve this project as that was part of what made the original fall short of expectations.

I know I am done with the deadline but
Took some of the data I made and built a php web page that parses it out.
Now it's not sorted but I thought I would show the straight data dump.
Would take me about 2 min each to do the powers and advantage data.
Plus I can create many other dictionaries (as one of my goals was to build that tool)
