That has a nice melody, I like it! It's a good combination of epic orchestral and the typical cliche elements of a desert (a good thing, imo).
A couple of minor critiques. The sitar seems to come on too strong. I think it would sound better with the volume lowered just a little bit and maybe some reverb.

Thanks, Sam. That's a great idea about the sitar.

I took a couple listens to the last night and I was very impressed. It has what it needs to be background music for a game...
Background music for a game has to be non-distracting to the game, melodic and non boring. Good job.

Jet: yeah, that is live guitar stuff. love doing that. also thanks for posting some of the RPGesus stuff, having a blast writing that stuff
SamW: thanks, yeah i was goin for that cliche stuff just to blatently tell the player, hey you recognize this setting musically as well as visually. after listening to it again, yeah ill will have to mix it again, thanks for the extra ears. and the deal with that pop at the loop point, i am not sure why that happens but i will have to find that out.
Kenman: thanks for the kind words and for giving it a listen.

I'm totally jazzed about the music that Dudeman is creating for RPGesus. Each one is better than the next. I'm "geeking out" over it. God is really using his talents to create just the right music for the game.
Your feedback is appreciated!

Kenman! Beautiful. Have you written any other straight instrumental stuff? I would love to hear as I am sure others would as well
Again, beautiful piece. wonderful job.

Not exactly sure what you mean, but all that I do is instrumental... But, not like this. I recently picked up a Salvador Ibanez classical nylon strung guitar, and recorded this little diddy to see what it sounded like. Pretty neat.. If I had to do this song over again, I would have done the background piece on a steel string, and then the lead on the classical.
I think ending this tune on the tension note is pretty cool. This song would make a great story break background for an RPG when information is being placed on the screen...

Anything non-lyrical/vocal was what I was implying. I had only checked out your band's page previously but just found and listened to your personal MySpace posted earlier in the thread. cool stuff So my new response would be I would love to hear more straight "live" stuff have you got anymore on the net or in the works?

Last year I finished up a concept album about the Bible called "Biography of Time". The song below is the second on the album called "The Fall of Man". It's important to note that most of the songs flow into each other on the CD (which is why this one starts and ends so abruptly).
My hope is to re-release the album in full orchestration (with help from someone who can orchestrate properly), but for now it is what it is.

I really like the chording on this, North. There were a handful of places where I expected the melody to move in a certain direction and was wonderfully surprised that it didn't!
